Rev. Justin White
In July, Rev. Justin White will be transferring to Garden Street United Methodist Church.
As a clergy person, my calling is to lead with integrity, love fiercely, challenge injustice, speak truth to power, and care deeply for the congregation where I am appointed. But my role extends beyond the local church—I am called to be present in the whole community, engaging with the wider world as a representative of Christ’s love and justice.
I strive to lead with adaptability, remaining grounded—but not bound—by administrative processes that help us do the work of ministry effectively. I believe in empowering the laity to live fully into their baptismal call, embracing the priesthood of all believers. The church is not mine to shape in my image; it belongs to God. My task is to guide the church in discovering its full potential as a transformative force in its context—so that when I am called elsewhere, the church continues to thrive, not dependent on any one way of doing things.
Lay leadership is vital, and I trust those in leadership positions to carry out their work with autonomy and purpose. I am deeply passionate about worship and trained in music, I value close collaboration and clear communication with those who shape and lead worship. Together, we create spaces where the Spirit moves, transforming hearts and lives.
