The Holiday Joy Event is Sponsored by the Opportunity Council and Interfaith Coalition to help families in purchasing Christmas Gifts for their children for the holiday. People are able to purchase wants/needs for families or $50 dollar gift cards.

Vetted requests to Opportunity Council for assistance have increased to 118 families, 283 children, and 6 single adults - a 28% increase instead of the 15% originally expected. Helping our community and the families within it is becoming more and more important.

To do our part for the Holiday Joy Event this year, Myron and Kendra Kirkpatrick helped to organize a goal of donating forty, $50 dollar gift cards to Fred Meyer, Walmart, Winco, Safeway, or Target. Through the love and dedication to the congregation here at GSUMC, we were able to go above our goal and raise forty-four $50 dollar gift cards a total of $2200 value donated to help families this holiday season!

But through the community, Interfaith Coalition, and the FCCB, the Holiday Joy Event was able to help with so much more.
