United Women in Faith meet every 4th Wednesday at 12:00pm at Garden Street United Methodist Church. This month the UWIF will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall.
This month, Kamalla Kaur and some friends from the Sikh Community's Chardi Kala Project will be sharing with us what it means to be Sikh, the fifth largest organized religion in the world. Sikhs faced mob violence in Bellingham in 1907, which drove them out of Whatcom County and they didn't return until the 1980s when they still faced prejudice at that time. Now, there are about 5,000 in our county.
