Our congregation believes that children are the future and appreciates their high energy, loud voices, and endless curiosity. We are committed to teaching them to love all people, God, and the world.
A Sunday School program is taught for children ages 4-10 years (pre-school through 5th grade), and childcare is available for younger children (birth to age 3). The children are encouraged to join their families for the beginning of the worship service, participate in the Children’s Message, and then go to the Sunday School room for the remainder of the service.
Please check your child in with the Sunday School staff prior to the 10 AM service.
Families with babies are welcome to use our Family Room with the worship service streaming on a TV. Nursing chairs and a diaper changing station are available in the Family Room.
The Sunday School curriculum we teach is Sparkhouse Holy Moly which engages children in four ways:
Our first annual Trunk or Treat will take place in the parking lot behind the church with congregation members decorating their trunks in a variety of themes for the kids to trick or treat from.
Kids in Costume!
This fun filled afternoon is for families to make crafts to celebrate Jesus’ birth! We enjoy chili, hot chocolate, and cookies while making crafts to decorate our homes in preparation for Christmas.
Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt after the worship service on Easter Sunday. Eggs are hidden throughout the playground (or church basement in inclement weather) and all kids will be successful in finding eggs and goodies!
There are many ways to volunteer with children beyond teaching Sunday School, so please contact Melissa if you are interested in impacting the lives of children at Garden Street UMC!
